- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup sourdough discard
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- garlic and Italian herbs for seasoning
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
- Add olive oil, sourdough discard, and garlic salt. Gradually mix in flour until smooth.
- Cover dough with plastic wrap; let rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
- Roll dough into a rectangle and transfer to a greased baking sheet.
- Brush dough with melted butter; sprinkle with garlic powder, herbs, and top with cheeses.
- Allow to rise again for about 15 minutes while preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Bake on the lowest rack for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cut into strips and serve warm.
