- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar (sifted)
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ cup caramel topping
- whole milk as needed
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add vanilla extract and eggs one at a time.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually combine with wet ingredients, then fold in mashed bananas.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While cooling, prepare the frosting by beating room temperature butter until creamy, then gradually add sifted sugar and salt, mixing in caramel topping and milk as needed.
- Once cooled completely, frost the bars evenly with the salted caramel buttercream.
