  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 5 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1 (14 oz) bag caramels, unwrapped
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream together butter and sugars; add vanilla and eggs.
  4. Mix in dry ingredients until combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Spread half the dough in the baking dish and bake for 8–10 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, prepare the caramel by melting caramels with evaporated milk and mixing in peanut butter.
