Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, confectioners' sugar, and salt. Cut in softened butter using a pastry blender until the mixture resembles sandy crumbs.
  3. Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 15 to 18 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, and eggs until well combined. Stir in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
  5. Pour filling over the baked crust and return to the oven for an additional 25 to 30 minutes until set but slightly soft in the center.
  6. Allow bars to cool completely in the pan before lifting out with foil edges and cutting into squares.
