Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 45 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, around 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for another 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the baking dish. Layer thinly sliced potatoes on top and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheeses over the potatoes, then pour beef broth around the edges of the casserole.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
