Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup low-sodium beef broth
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef (approximately 5 minutes). Add minced garlic and grated ginger in the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  2. Boil water in a pot and cook noodles as per package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Drain excess fat from the skillet and mix in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Combine cornstarch with water in a small bowl to create a slurry and add it to the skillet mixture. Simmer until thickened (about 2–3 minutes).
  5. Toss noodles into the skillet with the beef mixture until evenly coated. Let sit for an additional 2–3 minutes to absorb flavors.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
