- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil (or vegetable/olive oil)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch + 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 3 cups cooked rice (any kind)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with cold water; set aside.
- Combine beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in another bowl; set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook broccoli for 4-5 minutes; remove from pan.
- In the same skillet, cook ground beef and onions until browned. Add bell pepper; cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in the prepared sauce and bring to a boil. Stir in cornstarch mixture and let simmer until thickened.
- Return broccoli to the pan and combine everything well. Serve hot over rice.
