- 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 2 cups beef broth
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
- ½ cup French-fried onions
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain excess grease and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a large bowl, combine uncooked rice, French onion soup mix, and beef broth. Stir in the cooked beef and sour cream until mixed well.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted.
