  • 200 ml milk
  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 20 g honey
  • 400 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 40 g butter (for dough)
  • 25 g butter (for filling)
  • 5 g salt (for filling)
  • 450 g steak
  • Spices: cayenne powder, red bell pepper powder, onion powder, garlic powder, dried parsley
  • Vegetables: red onion, red bell pepper
  • Grated cheese (cheddar)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine lukewarm milk, instant yeast, and honey. Stir until mixed.
  2. Add flour, beaten egg, butter, and salt; knead the dough for 10-12 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm spot for about one hour or until doubled.
  4. Deflate the dough and divide it into 16 pieces; shape into balls and flatten slightly.
  5. Stack two pieces together and roll out to seal them.
  6. Coat with semolina and allow to rise again on a baking sheet for about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat a skillet over medium heat; bake rolls until golden on both sides.
  8. For the filling: heat butter and olive oil in another skillet; cook steak with spices for about two minutes. Add chopped vegetables and cook until tender.
  9. Top with grated cheese to melt before serving.
