  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 1 jar (25 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mini pepperoni (or chopped pepperoni)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and spray a 2-quart baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the sausage with onion and mushrooms until cooked through; drain excess grease.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, and 1 cup mozzarella; mix until smooth.
  4. Layer half of the cream cheese mixture in the baking dish, followed by half of the marinara sauce, half of the sausage mixture, and half of the pepperoni. Repeat layers.
  5. Top with remaining mozzarella and additional pepperoni if desired.
  6. Bake for 20–30 minutes until bubbly.
