  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring chicken broth and salt to boil. Add rice, cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until tender.
  3. In the same skillet used for chicken, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour for 1-2 minutes until golden. Gradually add milk and chicken broth while whisking to create a smooth sauce. Stir in cheeses, garlic powder, and thyme; cook for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet, cover with sauce, and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
