  • 3 cups seafood stock or fish broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup dry white cooking wine or seafood stock (non-alcoholic)
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1 cup medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Paprika for sprinkling
  • Crusty bread or oyster crackers

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, celery, and carrot; sauté until softened.
  2. Sprinkle in flour; stir for about 2 minutes to cook the raw taste.
  3. Gradually whisk in seafood stock until smooth. Add heavy cream and white wine; stir well.
  4. Bring to a gentle simmer and add crab meat and shrimp. Season to taste with paprika and Old Bay seasoning.
  5. Let the bisque simmer for 15–20 minutes until shrimp are cooked through. Garnish with parsley before serving.
