  • nonpareils for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×5-inch aluminum loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and almond extract.
  4. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients until just mixed; fold in sprinkles gently.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 45–50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar with buttermilk and corn syrup until desired consistency is reached; drizzle over cooled bread.
