  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 8 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 4 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; stir well.
  2. In another bowl, combine cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add to wet mixture until just combined. Pour into a greased baking pan and bake for 25–30 minutes.
  3. For the mousse, melt chocolate with milk in a saucepan over low heat; let cool slightly. Whip cream until soft peaks form, then fold in the melted chocolate. Spread over cooled brownies.
  4. Chill for at least 3 hours before serving.
