Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 white onion, finely diced
  • 1 pack of dinner rolls (12 count)
  • 16 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp. butter (melted)
  • 1 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • pepper, to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • pinch of salt and garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. white sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a sauté pan, heat olive oil and sauté onions for 3 minutes. Add ground beef, cooking until browned (6-7 minutes). Drain excess fat and mix in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  3. Slice dinner rolls in half and place on a baking sheet. Layer cheese on bottom halves followed by the cooked beef mixture, then top with more cheese before covering with the top halves.
  4. Brush melted butter over the tops and sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake for 12-15 minutes until warmed through.
  5. While baking, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper for the burger sauce.
  6. Serve warm with sauce on the side.
