- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 white onion, finely diced
- 1 pack of dinner rolls (12 count)
- 16 slices American cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 Tbsp. butter (melted)
- 1 Tbsp. softened butter
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- pepper, to taste
- 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
- pinch of salt and garlic powder
- 2 tsp. white sesame seeds
- 2 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a sauté pan, heat olive oil and sauté onions for 3 minutes. Add ground beef, cooking until browned (6-7 minutes). Drain excess fat and mix in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Slice dinner rolls in half and place on a baking sheet. Layer cheese on bottom halves followed by the cooked beef mixture, then top with more cheese before covering with the top halves.
- Brush melted butter over the tops and sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake for 12-15 minutes until warmed through.
- While baking, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper for the burger sauce.
- Serve warm with sauce on the side.
