Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh salmon
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring the salmon to room temperature by removing it from the fridge for 15–20 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, grated ginger, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth (or water), and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat; add olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Sear salmon skin-side down for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip the salmon and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until nearly cooked through.
  5. Add the remaining butter to the skillet; pour in the sauce around the salmon. Let it bubble for 20–30 seconds before removing from heat. Flip the salmon again and spoon glaze over top.
  6. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
