- 4 cups water (divided)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Optional garnishes: fresh lemon slices

Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, sugar, and blackberries. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat while smashing the berries with a fork or potato masher for about 2-3 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher to remove seeds and pulp. Add the remaining 3 cups of water and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Chill in the refrigerator until cold. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and blackberries.
