Description

Baked Orange Cauliflower is a delicious and healthier alternative to the beloved orange chicken, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. This recipe features crispy cauliflower florets coated in a flavorful orange sauce that combines sweet and tangy notes, making it a versatile dish that can be served as an appetizer, side, or main course.

  • 1/2 head of cauliflower (cut into bite-sized florets)
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs (whisked)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/8 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 tsp ginger (minced)
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp ketchup
  • 2 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Dip each cauliflower floret in the whisked egg, allowing excess to drip off.
  3. Coat in panko breadcrumbs by shaking them in a Ziploc bag, then place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. While baking, prepare the sauce by combining remaining ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil, thicken with cornstarch mixture, then remove from heat.
  6. Drizzle sauce over baked cauliflower before serving.
