Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tuna steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (divided)
  • Green onion (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, sesame oil, ground ginger, soy sauce, garlic powder, rice vinegar, and half of the sesame seeds.
  3. Marinate the tuna steaks by pouring half the marinade over them and refrigerating for at least 20 minutes.
  4. Remove tuna from marinade and coat each steak with the remaining sesame seeds.
  5. Grill the tuna steaks for about 2-3 minutes on each side, drizzling with reserved marinade while cooking.
  6. Check internal temperature: aim for 135°F for medium-rare or 145°F for well-done. Let rest before serving with garnishes.
